First Day at Armour School:
Buffalo Grove Visits Armour
Armour School students were visited by students from Buffalo Grove High School on Dec. 15 and generous employees from Tripp Lite on Dec. 19.
On Monday December 15th, students from Buffalo Grove High School visited students at Armour School to share in the spirit of holiday giving. They spent time with students doing crafts and each student received a bag of gifts through the adopt a school program.
“I love seeing their faces when the get all their stuff. One first grade student was brought to tears when she was given a barbie mermaid”, Samie (aka Ms. Claus) , a student from Buffalo Grove High School recalled.
Another Buffalo Grove student was touched by the behaviors of the students “They are so well-behaved and thankful for all the gifts they get!” said Monica from Buffalo Grove High School.
Mrs. Wingate, counselor at Armour stated that, “We are so grateful to the students at Buffalo Grove High School for partnering with us again during this wonderful seasonal. The spirit of giving is in the air!
Winter Wonderland Assembly
On December 19th, Armour School Branch students performed for families, friends and classmates in there Winter Wonderland Assembly. Students performed many songs of the season, including the kindergarten favorite "I'm a Little Snowman" and the Disney favorite, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" Students were excited to share in the holiday spirit by interacting with the crowd and Rockin' around the Christmas Tree. Thank you to all the students, parents and community that helped come out to make this special!
High School Fair
Armour School hosted a High School Fair for its students in grades 6 - 8. Many opportunities were highlighted during the 90 minute Open House. Representatives from Selective Enrollment, IB Programs, College and Technical Education Programs, Engineering, Technology, and Private Schools were in attendance. The representatives were extremely impressed of our current junior high students and know that they will each be an asset to whichever school they choose to attend!
